We take security seriously

Airport security has never been so important or stringent. That’s why we’ve developed our services alongside the Civil Aviation Authority and British Airways to ensure our processes meet strict aviation security regulations.

So, when you book with AirPortr, you can have peace of mind every step of the way, secure in the knowledge your belongings are in the safest of hands

Sealed and secured

We seal all bags with tamper-aware technology, when we collect them. We then make sure they stay sealed until we hand them to British Airways before take off. For extra security, our vehicles remain locked at all times, when in service, and under CCTV surveillance during loading at our warehouses.

Fully vetted staff

We put all our staff through a strict interview process, which includes comprehensive security clearance, vetting and referencing. So you can rest assured your bags are in very safe hands.

Identity verification

If you’re using Bag Check-In, we pre-verify that you have a genuine booking with British Airways, before we pick up your luggage. We then reconfirm your booking when we pick up your bags by scanning your boarding pass. We also scan your passport and carry out a physical ID match at your door to authenticate your identity.

An extra level of security

We screen every piece of luggage we handle to HBS (Hold Baggage Screening) standard before we take it to the airport – to ensure it doesn’t contain any prohibited items or dangerous goods. Once we’ve delivered it to the airport, it then gets scanned again – which means that booking with AirPortr gives you an additional level of security when you travel.

Are the AirPortr services secure?

AirPortr services are UK Aviation Security Regulation Compliant and are approved by Heathrow and Gatwick airports. All drivers are subject to strict interview processes and criminal background checks so you can be reassured your bags are in safe hands.

Can I check in buggies, wheelchairs and children's car seats?

We can check in buggies, car seats and wheelchairs for Bag Check-In bookings. You simply need to add this as a bag to your booking (either checked or standard depending if you need it at the airport) and add a note when prompted to let us know about the extra bag and its contents.

Can I use the service if I have oversized luggage?

If you’re using Bag Check-In your checked baggage must be within your booked allowance for your flight. You can find this information on your British Airways e-ticket or you can check Manage My Booking on ba.com.

How can I make changes to my booking?

You can edit your booking by logging into your account, selecting 'View booking' and then 'Edit' on the area of your booking you want to change. Bookings changes can be made up to 2 hours before collection. There are no administration charges.
