Travel to Heathrow by train

Speedy rail connections

Taking the train is the fastest way to travel between London and Heathrow. Trains depart Paddington station regularly – easily accessible by Bakerloo, Circle, District and Hammersmith and City lines. More info on timetables and tickets to London stations can be found on National Rail’s website.

The Heathrow Connect

The Heathrow Connect is slightly slower than the Heathrow Express but offers a cheaper way to travel to Heathrow. Trains depart every 30 minutes at 03 and 33 minutes past the hour. The journey takes around 40 minutes to travel to Heathrow Terminal 5. A single fair is £10.30 and a return £20.70.

If you’d rather save time, you can travel from Paddington to Heathrow on the Heathrow Express. Buy an advance ticket for services between the airport and London from £5.50 if booked in advance.

Travel luggage-free and stress-free

While rail is the fastest way to travel to Heathrow airport from London, it can be hard work to get across London with your luggage. So why not let us take your bags for you, while you take it easy.

Travel to Heathrow by tube

The London Underground is a less speedy but cheaper way to travel from Heathrow to London and back. All Heathrow terminals are accessible on the Piccadilly line. Depending on your London location, the journey takes approximately 50-60 minutes.

Oyster or contactless debit/credit card is the cheapest way to travel on the tube, with a single journey costing as little as £5.10.

Travel between Heathrow and Gatwick

If you want to travel from Heathrow to Gatwick, or vice versa, National Express run a dedicated service between the two. It runs 5 times an hour and costs £12 (each way).

National Express also offer regular transfers to and from London Victoria Station. Prices start from as little as £6 and the journey takes around 40 minutes. If you need to travel to Heathrow from outside of London, National Express coaches also provide a direct route from many cities across the UK.

National Express coaches leave to and from London Victoria every 30 minutes. The journey takes one hour and five minutes, with a number of stops in South London along the way. Handily, there’s pick up and drop off from both the North and South Terminals. Prices start at just £5 (each way).
